In my quest for the perfect metallic Halloween decor, I wanted to give myself a unique vase filler and a few pumpkins to grace my table. I grabbed a package of plastic skulls from wal-mart for $3. They were a little creepy, but I knew I’d be painting them so I liked their detail.
I also found a package of pumpkins and some gourds at the dollar store. I ended up not using the gold one, as it wasn’t as detailed as the others after I painted it.
In one last trip to the dollar store, I found this skeleton garland.
I used white gloss paint and different metallic craft paints that I had in the house, and I painted each piece by hand. It took 2-3 coats to fully cover each piece. The skulls were the toughest. With the skeleton garland, I cut the pieces from the twine and took their legs off so they could fit inside my vases.
The miniature pieces look beautiful inside my thrift store vases, and the larger gourds and pumpkins are perfect for my table centerpiece.
