Have you seen the things you can make with spoons now? There are all kinds of things. What caught my eye was a spoon mirror by Addictaed 2 Decorating. There is a great tutorial on how to do it.
I decided the spoon mirror would look great above the foyer table I built. If you haven’t seen it, click here. I went to the store and gathered my supplies, spoons, and a mirror. All together, it cost me about $7 for everything. I did use cardboard for the back and not the wreath forms she used. You will also need to cut a hole in the center so you can see your mirror when you attach it to the back.
I used wire cutters to cut all of my spoons. Wire cutters were easier for me to use than scissors for this project.
After cutting all my spoons, I started placing the spoons on the cardboard. At first, I started making the outside circle and decided that wasn’t work well for me. I couldn’t get the spoons spaced correctly. I then took them off and started around the mirror. I just kept placing them in the “hole” right above the two spoons below.

I kept going around and around until I had enough spoons to cover the cardboard. I ran out of spoons so I used some purple ones to finish. I was going to prime it before I sprayed painted it so you wouldn’t be able to tell.
Next, I spray painted all the spoons. I am trying to bring more color into the house, so I used a cherry red spray paint. I took hot glue and attached the mirror from the back. I used hot glue to attach jute to the back to make a hanger. I also made some piping out of some fabric I had in my stash and wrapped it around a couple times. I used it to cover up the ends of the spoons.
I love how it turned out and it looks great above my foyer table. What do you think?
