Happy Halloween!! I hope everybody is having a great Monday! I’m enjoying a couple of days off and hopefully I can finish up some projects before the weekend. I have a pallet entryway table I’m trying to finish. I’m loving how it is turning out and can’t wait to share it with you. Today, I’m going to show you how you can make a table runner with a $10 drop cloth. You can actually make three of them out of one drop cloth. The great thing about a drop cloth is you can paint it to match anything. You could also make one for the holidays. The ideas are endless.. especially since you can make three for $10.
The supplies you will need are:
- Drop cloth (6×9)
- Rotary cutter or scissors
- Sewing machine (optional)
- Hemming tape (optional)
The first thing is to cut the drop cloth into three even pieces. I cut mine so it would be 9 ft long. My husband and I made our table using the Anna White plans, so the table is long. You can always adjust the cuts to fit your needs. After cutting the drop cloth, hem it. I sew a lot so I used the hemming foot on my sewing machine to sewing my edges. If you don’t sew, you can use iron-on hemming tape and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to get your hem.
After hemming , paint the drop cloth with whatever your heart desires. I just took some painter’s tape and taped some lines off.
After painting it, I took the tape off and and now I have a new table runner. I still have two more I can paint. Maybe I will use it for the holidays. We love some Christmas decor at our house!
